A la rencontre des animaux

Avec une première présentation vidéo des animaux, les enfants joueront à un jeu de mots croisés avec le nom de l'animal en français à écrire en anglais.

Animal sounds

Pupils make sounds or draw pictures to revise 8 animals names. We guess c'est quel animal? Next we listen to une chanson and compare the animal sounds to English, followed by guessing games c'est qui. Finally groups choose sounds and we learn adverbs fort, doucement, rapidement et lentement to conduct group orchestras.

Today pupils revise numbers 1-12 with passez le ballon. Next we learn to tell the time asking - quelle heure est-il? Pupils also learn to spell and write the words - une heure, deux heures etc. Using animal names and actions (clapping and then walking) such as Monsieur Loup, Monsieur Elephant, Monsieur Canard etc. See quiz.

Animal descriptions - nom et adjectif

Pupils revise  quelle heure est-il and quiz. Next we review animal names (masculine/feminine) & match with adjectives including grand/petit/féroce & timide. N.B when/why we add e to adjectives. Finally, pupils write 3 sentences using masculine and feminine animals with the appropriate  adjectives. Une chanson.

Today we revise noun/adjective agreements. Next we learn the names of places where animals live and ask/answer Qui habites dans la savane/campagne?  Pupils then place the names of animals in the correct habitats in the class. Finally, pupils review lesson with conversation in pairs.

Quel temps fait-il?

Pupils revise the weather with a song. Next we play montrez-moi with weather symbols, trouvez l'image, Jacques a dit, qu'est qu'il te faut and passez la phrase and qu’est-ce qui manque ? Finally using a map of France, children answer the question Quel temps fait-il à Bordeaux? À Bordeaux il fait chaud etc.

Today we have a quick revision of last week's class with a song and Jacques a dit. Next review numbers 1-20 then 20-40 and play Passez Le Ballon with multiples of 5, and Cherchez le Numero. Finally we play Fizz Buzz making an animal sounds learned previously to replace multiples of 5 then 10. Recite number poem here.

Pupils review numbers 1-20 then 20-40 and recite number poem here. Then we learn new words to ask/answer Quelle est la température? Let's look around the country to find out about the weather. Working in groups we say the temperature.

The wind and the sun

Today after revising the temperature Quelle est la température and weather phrases, we look for the temperature in weather Paris. We listen to Le Vent et Le Soleil       then listen again with actions when we hear the words le vent et le soleil. Now pupils join in with Je suis plus fort que toi. See new words. Finally listen and wave phrases.

Pupils revise weather phrases and then learn items of clothing. Next we complete exercise matching clothing with different weather patterns
